Penny Leonard has over 30 years experience in the private and semi-private club industry with Clubcorp. She began her journey in a country club development in Northern California and continued to pursue her interest in sales management and sales training working with club managers, membership directors, catering professionals and club committees.

Working with troubled clubs in markets from Orlando to Seattle, Palm Desert to Hawaii, Hong Kong and Taiwan, she has trained and encouraged sales professionals to follow her basic “ABC” outline for success: “Attitude, Belief and Commitment.”

Acquisitions and club development – with an emphasis on “sales first” – have allowed Penny to contribute to countless mergers across the United States. Market research and the knowledge to fully understand a club’s positioning is key to the strategies that she will implement for you and your team.

Her understanding of training club managers on the importance of sales management has been her passion for many years; and club managers have gained significant insight into how to lead and develop their sales teams.

Human Resource Consultant

Meg Hanna has over 20 years of experience designing and implementing human resource solutions that drive results for human resource strategic issues. She has consulted for a diverse spectrum of clients, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 organizations.

Meg’s years of experience in the private club industry, coupled with her breadth of expertise in multiple markets, enables her to help clients build an effective human resource infrastructure with the components critical to the organization.

Clients turn to Meg for expertise in the areas of leadership, reengineering the human resources process, recruiting, performance management, compensation plans, training programs, executive coaching, policies and procedures development, legal compliance, employee benefit programs and succession planning.

Meg was Director of Human Resources for M Squared Consulting, Inc. where she built the human capital management structure and led her team to optimize the people practices. In addition, Meg founded Hanna & Associates, a human resource consulting firm where she has worked with clients to provide effective human resource management strategies.

Meg has worked internally for human resource consulting and staffing firms. She brings 15 plus years of human resource excellence in the hospitality industry having worked with ClubCorp, an international company owning or operating golf courses, country clubs, private business clubs and resorts worldwide.

Meg has served on the Board of the Northern California Human Resources Association and is active in the non-profit organizations such as Room-To-Read and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. She attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

Keith Logar Keith Logar
Food & Beverage Specialist

Mr. Logar attended the Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduating in 1979, he relocated to Florida. He started his career with the Hilton Corporation and then worked for Specialty Restaurants. In 1980, Mr. Logar was recruited to open Earl Nightingale’s Restaurant in Punta Gorda, Florida.

In 1981, he joined Club Corporation of America (Club Corp) and spent 27 years progressing through various roles within the company. During his tenure, Mr. Logar held varied positions such as Executive Chef, Regional Executive Chef, Regional Food and Beverage Director, Regional Operations Manager, Club Manager, Regional Club Manager, and Corporate Food and Beverage Director.

Mr. Logar has successfully recruited and trained hospitality professionals for over 30 years. He has opened over 30 Business and Country Clubs, being involved in design, concept development, staffing and implementation. He was instrumental with numerous new developments, acquisitions, redesigns and redevelopments.

Additionally, Mr. Logar was the first to have a private club inducted into the Nations Restaurant News, “Fine Dining Hall of Fame” (Citrus Club, Orlando, Florida 1989).

Mr. Logar has affiliations with the American Culinary Federation (ACF), Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), Research Chefs of America (RCA), and the National Restaurant Association (NRA).

Randy May Randy May
“Front of the House” Service

Born and raised in Northeastern Ohio, Randy attained an AOS Degree in Food Service Management from the University of Akron in 1982.

Randy was employed by ClubCorp USA, Inc. for 28 years until July 2008. During his tenure, he held many front-of-the-house positions including Regional Service Director, Development Service Director and Regional Director of Food and Beverage for the Business and Sports Club Division.

While working eight years as a Development Service Director for ClubCorp, Randy had the opportunity to be involved with opening over 30 private Clubs ranging from Golf and Country and Business and Sports Clubs to Nicklaus-signature projects and Alumni Clubs.

His most “prized” accomplishments were opening the two Bear’s Best operations in Atlanta and Las Vegas as well as opening the University Center Club in Tallahassee, Florida on the campus of Florida State University and the University of Texas Club in Austin, Texas on the campus of The University of Texas.

Currently Randy is working with the service staff in the Carolina Dining Room at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, which is an honor and a privilege. “My passion is hospitality service staff training and concept development, from casual to fine dining with a focus on enhancing the Member/Guest experience, regardless of the venue”.

Randy’s hobbies include: land design, biking, wines, cooking and staying current with culinary, beverage and service trends.

His philosophy is straightforward: “Anything worth doing in life, whether personal or professional, is worth doing well”.

Guy Shelander Guy Shelander
General Club Operation & Management

Guy Shelander was born and raised in a restaurant family in Dayton, Ohio. He attended Sinclair University in Dayton majoring in Business.

Over the course of a 40-year career in the Hospitality Industry, 31 years has been focused in the Private Club Industry. His broad Club experience includes Country Clubs, Athletic, Tennis and City/Business Clubs, including General Manager of Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ for ten years.

Guy has also managed clubhouse capital renovations, golf course capital projects and long-term master plans.

He is a member of the Club Managers Association of America and International Food Service Executives Association. Guy serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services, a non-profit organization, which serves people with special needs. He was also elected to their Hall of Fame in 2002.
